Griswold named 2015 WHA Summer Intern

Baraboo, Wis. – June 1, 2015...The Wisconsin Holstein Association is pleased to announce Sara Griswold of Black Earth, Wis., as the 2015 summer intern. Sara will be based out of the office in Baraboo, Wis.

During the summer, Sara will serve in public relations and professional writing roles. She will work with the Wisconsin Holstein News in order to gather articles, testimonials, roundtable leads and write breeder profiles. She will be a vital part in creating content for the Wisconsin Holstein website, monthly e-newsletters and blog. Sara will serve as the primary point person for the planning and coordinating of the 2015 WHA Futurity in West Allis.

In addition to these duties, Sara will attend district shows, championship show, and other events to represent the association, and provide various supporting roles through the summer to benefit the association.

Griswold grew up on her family's small hobby farm in Black Earth and has been involved with 4-H her entire life. She exhibits dairy, beef and swine at local, county, district, state and national shows throughout the Midwest. She has a tremendous passion for agriculture and communications. Sara is currently a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin - Madison studying dairy science and life sciences communication. On campus, she is involved in the Association of Women in Agriculture, where she served as the publicity chair for the club's annual Breakfast on the Farm and was named the Outstanding Freshman. Sara is also a member of Saddle and Sirloin, where she served as the Social Media Chair for the Badger Kickoff Classic Beef Show. She is a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association and will be serving as the Vice President of Careers along with Collegiate Farm Bureau where she will serve as Director of Public Relations. She shares her passion for dairy cattle on campus through Badger Dairy club and serves as yearbook coordinator.

Griswold continues to be an active member of the Dane County Junior Holstein Association, where she serves as the secretary, and participates on the Dane County Dairy Judging team.

Sara is excited to join the association as the intern for the summer.
