Wisconsin Holstein Championship Show Held in Madison July 10-11

Baraboo, Wis. – July 15, 2015...The Wisconsin Holstein Association held the 56th Wisconsin Holstein Championship Show at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wis. on July 10th and 11th.

The Red & White Holstein Show was held on Thursday, July 9th, with 98 head parading through the ring for judge Chad Ryan to place. The Grand Champion of the show was Siemers Destry Joy-Red-ET exhibited by Crystal, Jordan, Josh, Jake, Connor, & Lauren Siemers of Newton, Wis. The Reserve Grand Champion was Reyncrest Real Laredo-Red exhibited by Milk Source LLC of Kaukauna, Wis.

Friday morning the Junior Activities Committee held the annual judging contest. Approximately 80 kids from around the state competed in the contest. First place of the junior division went to Kaydence Hodorff second place of the junior division went to Ava Booth. In the senior division first place went to Mason Jauquet and second place went to Hannah Nelson.

The heifer show began at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon starting with Secretary of Agriculture Ben Brancel welcoming the crowd and Emma Dorhorst singing the National Anthem. Judge Tim Abbott of Enosburg, Vt. placed 138 heifers. Junior Champion of the Junior Show went to Butlerview Doorman Class exhibited by Jordan & Whitney Ebert of Algoma, Wis. Reserve Junior Champion of the Junior Show went to Jerland Sh Atwood Adeen-ET exhibited by Kayla Krueger of Marion, Wis. Junior Champion of the Open Show went to Holbric Dickey Shadow exhibited by Hammertime Holsteins, Heritage Holsteins, and Pat Conroy of Poynette, Wis. Reserve Junior Champion of the Open Show was Sherona-Hill Applesox-Red exhibited by Siemers Holseins of Newton, Wis.

Friday evening the showmanship contest was held. The top three youth in each age division from the nine district shows qualified for the State Championship Showmanship Contest. Judging the contest was Jerome Meyer of Viroqua, Wis. First place in the 10 & Under Division went to Emma Paulson of Columbus, Wis., second to Brady Bleck of Glenbeulah, Wis., and third to Jacob Harbaugh of Marion, Wis. In the Junior Division, first place went to Jenna Broege of Janesville, Wis., second to Cole Booth of Plymouth, Wis., and third to Ava Booth of Plymouth, Wis. In the Senior Division, first place went to Elizabeth Sarbacker of Verona, Wis., second to Megan Nelson of Ettrick, Wis., and third to Jonas Zurcher of Oxford, Wis.

The Championship Show concluded on Saturday morning with Judge Abbott placing 86 cows. Senior and Grand Champion of the Junior Show went to Blondin Goldwyn Subliminale-ET exhibited by Trevor Tuman and Chandler Bening of Lomira, Wis. Reserve Senior Champion and Reserve Grand Champion of the Junior Show went to Kingsmill Atwood Allison-ET exhibited by Jordan and Whitney Ebert of Algoma, Wis. Senior and Grand Champion of the Open Show went to Lovhill Goldwyn Katrysha exhibited by Milk Source Genetics LLC of Kaukauna, Wis. Reserve Senior and Reserve Grand Champion of the Open Show went to Petitclerc Sid Sunkiss exhibited by Peter and Lyn Vail and Budjon Farms of Lomira, Wis.
